Adam & Megan / / Engagement
Doing a photo shoot with friends is always a great time and with Adam & Megan this was especially true. We were glad to be there for the engagement moment during our annual camping trip and so glad they asked us to do their engagement photo shoot as well. They will however have to find another photographer for the wedding since Anthony is going to be the best man!
Megan had some great ideas for the places she wanted to use for the shoot. We started at the FFA farm she spent countless hours at during her high school years. Then we moved to an open baseball field, a passion they both share.
One of the best parts of a photo session with your best friends is the amount of time you get to spend with them. We stayed the night at their house playing board games and catching up. Then the next day we went to the beautiful campus of Santa Clara University where Adam graduated.

Mike & Jen / / Engagement
We may not have gotten all of the shots we had planned for but we still had a fantastic time shooting Jen & Mike’s engagement photos. The theme for their wedding is “Over the Moon” so we had planned to incorporate the super moon over the cliffs of Santa Cruz into their shoot. However, the weather did not want to cooperate as the coast was foggy and rainy the entire day and we didn’t even get a glimpse of the moon throughout the evening. Jen and Mike were real troopers while we went ahead and got some fun photos and the beach – that is, until it started to rain! We packed up and decided to head over to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk to take advantage of some shelter and finish up the pictures. Despite being unplanned the Boardwalk photos turned out great! We got to capture Jen and Mike having fun playing some games and set against the very cool lights of the rides. We all even shared some deep fried Oreos. All together it was a really fun photo shoot and we are looking forward to photographing their wedding at the end of September.
The Memoirs / / Promotional
We had the wonderful opportunity to shoot some promotional pictures for a band over the past few weeks. The Memoirs are an awesome local band that specializes in weddings and events with a fantastic repertoire of songs from R&B to Soul and Lounge. They are available as either a duo or quartet so we were sure to get a wide variety of images from each individual to the full band.
The first portion of the photo shoot took place at an amazing location in the Foothills around Folsom. We had an excellent backdrop of rolling hills, gnarled trees and tall golden grass and got some great shots. As the sun went down we were able utilize the long shadows to get some pretty dramatic images. The band was a ton of fun to work with and their great personalities came through despite our directions to keep giving us serious faces.
We then brought the duo portion of the band to our studio for some additional pictures. Katrina and Frank did a great job posing for us and we were able to get some really solid images.
Surangi & Jeremy / / Maternity
Surangi & Jeremy are having their first baby! We met up with the delightful couple on a lovely spring day last week in Land Park. They have decided to be surprised by the gender of the baby and this gave us an excellent opportunity to focus on the expectant parents to be during this exciting time in their lives. They are very relaxed, easy-going, clearly enjoy being with each other and we especially wanted to capture the tender moments shared between them. The glowing mom to be chose to wear a gorgeous shade of purple and she stood out beautifully against the soft green shades of the park. We even had a curious gaggle of geese wander in to our final shots giving us some awesomely romantic images and we hope the parents-to-be enjoy them as much as we do.
Join The Rebellion After Party / / Event
After the RSA Network Security Conference at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, Palo Alto Networks, with LogRhythm, hosted a great after party at Temple Nightclub. This year the theme was Star Wars and they brought with them a dozen characters in full costume to mingle with guests and pose for pictures at their step-and-repeat wall. Star Wars, an open bar, and great music made it a night to remember!
